When we sleep, our saliva flow rate is quite less than as we are awake. For this reason the bacteria in our oral cavity becomes more active.
They grow and multiply easily with less saliva flow.
Due to these bacterial actions, added up with the increased realease of toxins while sleeping, contribute to the bad smell after we wake up.
It can be reduced by brushing twice daily (morning after we wake up, and before going to sleep), cleaning tongue with a tongue scraper/ brush daily, regular flossing and rinsing every time you eat/ drink something, using mouth rinses intermittently as prescribed by the dentist.
